More about My Future Goal
Our mission is to ‘build better lives through sport’ and this is exactly what My Future Goal (MFG) was set up to do. As a Barclays Premier League Football Club, Fulham Football Club Foundation (FFCF) can inspire hard to reach young people who are excited by the opportunity to engage with football and elite sport, and who may not be motivated to engage with more traditional employability provision.
FFCF use the brand to enhance the enrolled participant’s experiences and widen access to opportunities. So far, FFCF have provided courses at Craven Cottage, the home ground of Fulham FC, as well as taking participants to watch the Barclays ATP World Tour Tennis. Both help to increase motivation and retention by providing exciting opportunities and rewards.
Through MFG, participants also gain sports related qualifications and access to mentors working in sport which is a very exciting part of the course for many participants. In the boroughs served by FFCF, youth unemployment is extremely high and MFG focuses on tackling this national issue. MFG recruits young people from very deprived areas and empowers them to improve attitude, confidence, skills and knowledge. The project specifically targets young people, aged 16 – 25, who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).
