More about Jobbsjansen
Vålerenga football and Jobbsjansen uses football to tackle unemployment and life skills for youths between 17-25 years old. We use football to play, have fun and compete. We also use football to give the youths a challenge, for mastery and self-confidence. We focus on fair play and how to corporate with other teammates. We practice social skills by introducing rules, to make friends and get to know each other better. We use it to overcome risks, feel motivated, learn how to respect each other, develop loyalty, share a common goal, maintain good mental and physical health and reduce stress, improve their self – esteem, handle stress better and perform better in daily life.
Jobbsjansen many goals is to be a part of a social community and meet other youths in the same situations, share experiences together with others, discover qualities in each other to transfer and reflect on own qualities. Many of the youth that enters the project have limited social network and feel like they do not belong in any kind of social community. We believe that football can contribute to positivity development and can prevent long-term unemployment.
