Everton "Blue Family" Supports Isolated Community Members

Last week Everton and its official charity Everton in the Community launched ‘Blue Family’, a coordinated outreach and engagement campaign to maintain contact with fans and provide vital support and assistance to some of the most vulnerable, socially isolated and at-risk members of the community during the coronavirus pandemic. Read More

MLB Transforms 'Opening Day' & joins with EVERFI 

Major League Baseball presented “Opening Day at Home” - a full slate of 30 games broadcast, streamed and posted on social media, creating a full-day event on what would have been Opening Day. The experience was intended to invite fans to feel a sense of community and unity on a day many were looking forward to while underscoring the importance of staying home to stop the spread of the coronavirus. EVERFI also joined in with the launch of 'Summer Slugger,' a baseball-themed digital education course in partnership with MLB aimed to assist some of the 39 million students currently learning at home in the United States and Canada. Read More

Formula 1 To Manufacture Ventilators

Formula 1 teams are turning their expertise and manufacturing capabilities to help the fight against the coronavirus pandemic by supplying new medical equipment in response to the government’s call for engineering companies to help produce respirators for NHS intensive care units. As a result, several UK-based teams will liaise with medical suppliers in order to help the efforts to aid the NHS in dealing with the crisis and produce much-needed ventilators. Read More

"NBA Together" Pledges $50 million 

The NBA launched the NBA Together program which hopes to raise more than $50 million “to support people impacted by the coronavirus and community and healthcare organizations providing vital services around the world.” More than half of that money, about $30 million, has already been pledged by teams and players for various initiatives related to the shutdown, such as paying displaced arena workers. Read More

Football Association of Wales (FAW) launched a new initiative promoting mental wellbeing during periods of isolation which features prominent Welsh players. The initiative sees the FAW join with mental health charity Hafal to advise people on the simple steps they can take to maintain wellbeing through the coming months. Read More
