THE FIRST DAY OF WORKSHOP WEEK IS DEDICATED TO THE STRATEGIC ISSUES BEYOND SPORT AND OUR PARTNERS HAVE BEEN FOCUSING ON ACROSS THE YEARS. BUT THROUGHOUT THE WEEK, ATTENDEES WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO USE OUR EVENT PLATFORM’S PEOPLE-CENTERED NETWORKING TOOL TO CONNECT WITH INTERESTING AND RELEVANT PEOPLE TO EXPAND THEIR COMMUNITIES .

SPECIAL EXHIBITIONS WILL ALSO BE ACCESSIBLE DURING BREAKS FOR ATTENDEES TO DIVE DEEPER INTO RECENTLY COMPLETED SESSIONS AND GET SOME VALUABLE 1:1 TIME WITH PRESENTERS AND SPEAKERS. AND WE'VE MADE SURE TO LEAVE TIME FOR NETWORKING AND FUN VIRTUAL HAPPY HOURS!

During this forum, members will share case studies on how organizations are shifting the ways they use sport to engage young people in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education, and assess progress on how the Alliance is collaboratively supporting educators. Presentations, Q&A and roundtable disccusion will cover diversity and inclusion, the next generation of green leaders, access to tech, gender equity and more with expertise and new approaches from the likes of:

Retired NFL Pro-Bowler and EcoAthlete, Ovie Mughelli, Science and Tech Broadcaster, Dr. Shini Somora, President of Girl Up at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Melissa Aldana, Sports Partnerships Manager at Sphero Sports, Matt Mead and STEM Curriculum Developer at Loyola Marymount University, Chris Rougier.

In this time of global instability and social distancing, protecting our mental health is even more important. This forum is a chance for attendees to learn how mental wellness is being addressed within sport as well as the current ways sport is being used as a platform and tool to address mental health issues arising out of COVID-19. You’ll hear from an unbelievable list of athletes and mental health advocates from NFL Hall of Famer Brian Dawkins and Former Professional Footballer Clark Carlisle to Olympic Gold Medalists Samantha Livingstone and Helen Richardson-Walsh.

Attendees will also learn about efforts to support athletes in times of adverstity from USA Gymnastics President & CEO, Li Li Leung and the IOC Athletes Commission, as well as innovative ways to use sport to address mental wellness from FC Barcelona Foundation and EVERFI.

This event will showcase a crucial topic in US sport: the future of Women in Soccer. A diverse range of experts will take a look at gender equality and inclusion in the sport and industry – on and off the field -- and the power of a network to champion women personally and professionally, leverage collective efforts to increase gender equity in the soccer industry, celebrate the women’s game and support organizations that use soccer for social impact.

Speakers include: Courtney Levinsohn, Founder of Women in Soccer, Ebru Köksal, Chair of Women in Football, Tracy Hamm, UC Davis Head Women's Soccer Coach, Nikole Collins-Puri, CEO of Techbridge Girls and Quinn McGill, Student and GirlUp Represenative.

Join Dan Nicholl, Host of the fun and engaging Dan Really Likes Wine show for a glass of vino while he chats with Olympic Track & Field Legend, Michael Johnson, Rugby World Cup Winner, Schalk Brits and Former South African Cricket Captain, Faf du Plessis. He will speak with them about their likes, but also have a general discussion on their sporting backgrounds and their thoughts on community and engagement.

Following a sneak peek into this new network of influential women during Monday’s Beyond Soccer event, Women in Soccer will hold conversations throughout the week to get your views on how their new organization can move the dial for greatest impact.
