- Overview of Project:
Sports and performing arts are powerful tools for engaging with young people and an inspirational way to teach life skills.
Those we work with live in areas or attend schools crippled by high socioeconomic deprivation.
We employ a unique, pioneering full time model, partnering with schools to provide sessions before, during and after school, weekends and holidays, giving opportunities for high quality training and involvement in tournaments
• Greenhouse staff are mentors and role models as well as qualified and competent coaches
• Programmes are inclusive to all young people and reward those who show willingness and commitment to the programme not just the elite
• Internal tournaments allow young people on our programmes to meet and interact with each other
• Currently working with over 7,500 young people each week through 41 programmes in dance, table tennis, basketball, football, multi-sports and drama in both mainstream and special schools
• Our community clubs, provide training opportunities for our participants, a school to club link and partnership with the local communities
• 55 past participants now involved as volunteers, assistants or coaches
• Our football programmes have children’s committees which we are developing across all programmes to ensure views are heard

Sounds like a phenomenal program. Wanted to know a few things. 1) Are all the children from under-privileged backgrounds. It seems like its a great program involving children from diverse backgrounds including mainstream. 2) How do you involve past participants as volunteers and coaches. Do they come back as paid coaches. 3) Where do you get coaches to work with 7500 children. Thank you, Vishal Dream A Dream
