More about New Jersey DareDevils
The NJ Dare Devils ice hockey club is a 501c3 organization that benefits the needs of special needs hockey players. We are a goup of 50 players, 10 caoches and over 50 jr. coaches from local high schools. Our players are principally effected with Autism and have difficulties following direction and paying attention. We have trained our coaches in specific methods in dealing with this disorder and have had much success in developing players. Our players main objectiove is to have fun.
They are not pushed to developed certain skills but are given goals that they can work towards. Our team is made up of two squads split by age. We break out our practices into groups of 4 or 5 in order to better address the needs of the players. At the end of the day we want our players to learn the game of hockey, make friendship and improve their interactions in social situations.
