More about National Football League
One of the NFL’s most viable resources for social change lays in its reach and diverse fanbase. The league employs a multifaceted approach to bringing its community relations platforms to life, which touches multiple internal departments, corporate sponsors, licensees, non-profit organizations, players, coaches, broadcast partners and its international satellite offices in London, Beijing, Mexico City and Toronto.
To maximize its reach, the NFL collaborates with its 32 teams on strategic on-field presentation, broadcast integration, branding and provides assets for localized community and international engagement efforts. Through the NFL Foundation, the NFL also provides up to $45K USD to each team for localized outreach initiatives.
As part of Super Bowl Week, the NFL pays tribute to the outstanding community service performed by its players, coaches and front office staff through its year end recognition programs: the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, the NFL Salute to Service Award and the Don Shula NFL High Coach of the Year Award. The three awards highlight off-the-field community contributions, military appreciation and outstanding coaching at the high school level.
