More about Diaspora Sport for Social Cohesion
Since the 2008 xenophobic attacks that erupted in South Africa which claimed over 60 lives, migrants live under great fear and insecurity. This project constitutes a plat-form where the youth is though about human rights and values in order to change the stereotype and stigma that triggers xenophobia attitudes. The project then uses soccer to mediate and reconciliation migrants and locals while maintaining a peaceful environment.
