ICON to create look and feel of Beyond the Games

Beyond Sport has appointed ICON, the official Provider of Look, Wayfinding and Signage Services for this summer’s Commonwealth Games, to create the look and feel of Beyond The Games, powered by Dell – a full-day Summit staged two days before the opening ceremony of Glasgow 2014 dedicated to exploring sport’s role in social change.

The partnership forms part of ICON’s global business strategy which this year includes providing its services to the Commonwealth Games as well as the FIFA World Cup, currently under way in Brazil. ICON delivers these global major events through industry-leading partnerships with local organisations, allowing it to showcase its expertise and experience, helping develop brands and companies around the world.

It sees a continuation of ICON’s work with Beyond Sport, with the global leaders in branding, look and feel having also provided its services for events including the Beyond Sport Summit and Awards in London 2012, held just days before the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Beyond Sport is a global organisation dedicated to promoting, supporting and funding the use of sport as a tool for social change.

Andrew Hodson, Marketing and Communications Director at ICON, commented: “Our work with Glasgow 2014 over the last year has been a key part of our business and our global strategy and we also have a long and well-established relationship with Beyond Sport, so our involvement in Beyond The Games is an obvious fit. We are delighted to be playing a part bringing together the world of sport in Glasgow this summer.”

Nick Keller, Founder of Beyond Sport, added: “ICON have always ensured that our events are visually stunning – which is a key part of delivering a strong message: that corporates, government and the sporting world can come together in this space to positively impact our communities. Like Beyond Sport, ICON has a truly global footprint.”

Beyond The Games, powered by Dell, is uniquely backed by Glasgow 2014, the Scottish Government, Glasgow City Council and Glasgow Caledonian University.

Beyond Sport’s Global Partners are Barclays, TIME, ESPN and UNICEF.
