More about Siyadlala Football Academy
In retrospect on the recent FIFA 2010 world cup which was held in the country, B&M Football5’s (Pty) Ltd and the Mbombela municipality are embarking on a project to facilitate and manage soccer development academy in Mpumalanga, the project was launched at the end of January 2011.
This initiative is operating under the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship, a project of the Virgin Foundation operating as Virgin Unite Africa Association Incorporated under section 21, PBO Number 2008/016312/08 and it started as a pilot at the municipal facilities in Nelsville which is now operating in Valencia sports grounds and in the next few years we will assess the growth of the program based on enrolments/registrations and will be expanded into other areas across the province.
The key age groups that we are targeting for this skills development program for the youth at various levels ranges from 5yr to 17yr olds. We have realized that in order for our standard of soccer performance at domestic and international level to improve, a solid and sustainable talent development system has to be developed and implemented which will serve as a feeding scheme to the national soccer leagues at various levels and also as a tool to train and up-skill young potentials for the overseas market.
