Beyond Sport has announced the initial speaker line-up for the Beyond Sport Summit and Awards 2013, the premier global gathering in the field of sport and development, which will be staged in Philadelphia from September 9th-11th 2013.
The UK’s leading brands and sporting organisations have come together to launch the Beyond London 2012 Awards, which will reward the best sports programmes, projects and people inspired by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and are open for entries now.
Mayor Nutter was joined by some of Philadelphia's biggest sporting names on Wednesday 17th April to announce that the city will stage the Beyond Sport Summit & Awards 2013 – following in the footsteps of London, UK in 2012 and Cape Town, South Africa in 2011.
Beyond Sport, the global organisation that promotes, develops and funds the use of sport to create positive social change, is delighted to announce that entries are now open on for this year’s Beyond Sport Awards – with the winners to be unveiled at the Beyond Sport Summit, to be held in Philadelphia in September.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has appointed Beyond Sport to support the IOC Sport for All Commission throughout the build-up to the 15th IOC World Conference on Sport for All, to be held in Lima, Peru in April 2013. The IOC Sport for All Commission was established in 1983 with the primary aim of encouraging and supporting efforts to disseminate the health and social benefits of sport.
The world’s leading sports teams will gather at Yankee Stadium on November 13th, when Beyond Sport United welcomes the leaders of the most popular sports on the planet amongst a powerful group of star names and influential figures who will come together to explore and expand their organizations’ role in social change.
It is with profound sadness that we have learnt of the deaths of four young people who participated in Skateistan – the remarkable skateboarding project from Afghanistan.
The winners of the Beyond Sport Awards 2012 were revealed in London on Wednesday 25th July, bringing to an end the annual Beyond Sport Summit.
