Greenhouse Kicks Off 'London United'

Greenhouse has just been announced as an official partner of ‘London United’ – the Evening Standard’s new campaign that recognises the positive power of football to transform lives in London.

This story is about Greenhouse Schools Project operating in United Kingdom and using Multiple sports as a tool for social change.
This project was shortlisted for Sport for Education Award.

Greenhouse has just been announced as an official partner of ‘London United’ – the Evening Standard’s new campaign that recognises the positive power of football to transform lives in London.

The campaign launches on the 15th September 2014 and aims to promote and create opportunities for young people living in inner city London, to get involved in football and football coaching. As a charity, Greenhouse has been providing inspirational coaching to young people throughout London for the last 12 years, and so was the obvious choice to be at the heart of this new campaign.

As part of the launch, Mulenga Chafilwa and Victor Alaneme, the former having joined Greenhouse London Football Club (GLFC) as a player, share their feelings about what football coaching means to them and their experiences of life, growing up in South London.

Mulenga has progressed through his developmental journey with Greenhouse and is a full-time coach, employed by the charity to give inspirational sports coaching and mentoring to the next generation of young people living in South London. We are incredibly proud of his achievements and the positive impact he is having in his local community.

You can read more about both Mulenga and Victor’s story and how Greenhouse is involved in the ‘London United’ campaign, in the Evening Standard’s article here.
