English Coaches launch Prostate Cancer Campaign

August 9, 2019

Some of football’s biggest names, including former England stars Alan Shearer, Gary Neville and Les Ferdinand, have joined forces to promote the life-saving work being done through Prostate Cancer UK’s partnership with the League Managers Association (LMA) -- helping to raise awareness of the disease that claims the life of one man every 45 minutes.

The England trio join AFC Bournemouth’s Manager Eddie Howe, Republic of Ireland Manager Mick McCarthy, former England Manager Sam Allardyce and former Rangers and Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish in a powerful video helping to launch the ‘Men, We Are With You’ campaign.

The video showcases the charity’s ambition to celebrate everything great about men and highlight the special moments we lose when a life is claimed by prostate cancer.

The video was initially teased at the LMA Annual Awards in May, where the LMA raised £10,000 to help fund specialist nurses to support those concerned or affected by prostate cancer throughout the 2019/20 Premier League season.

The LMA Ambassadors all wore the Prostate Cancer UK ‘Man of Men’ pin badge, explaining why the charity’s work in football is so important. This year marks the fifth successful season between Prostate Cancer UK and the LMA.
