3 WEEKS REMAIN TO SUBMIT APPLICATIONS FOR THE BEYOND SPORT GLOBAL AWARDS

Applications for the Beyond Sport Global Awards 2018 will close on May 10, in just under three weeks’ time. In its tenth anniversary year, the Awards will celebrate and fund best practice from around the world of how sport is being used to help achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

The Beyond Sport Foundation will facilitate funding of over $300,000 to this year’s Winners, as well as strategic business support from the likes of GivenGain, Upshot and Thomson Reuters Foundation in order to support the growth of our incredible Shortlist and Winners in helping them become more sustainable in the future.

Taking place at the stunning One World Observatory in New York City on September 12, the Awards will celebrate, support, and raise awareness of ways sport is being used in communities around the world to help make the UN SDGs a reality.

As in 2017, the categories will align with and promote sport's role in helping to achieve the UNSDGs, ranging from the Sport for Quality Education and Employment Award, to the Sport for Equality Award, to the Sport Climate Action Award – please see the full list of categories and find out how to apply here.

There is no cost associated to entering and please note that the deadline to submit an application is May 10. We recommend that you leave plenty of time to complete the entry forms, as all entries will go through a fully audited and comprehensive judging process. The Shortlist will be announced in mid-July.

Once you have submitted an application, your organization will officially become part of the Beyond Sport Network, and you will be able to locate your project in the global network of sport for social change organizations which includes over 2,500 projects from 150 countries.

The Shortlist will also receive facilitated networking opportunities, which will consist of complimentary passes to Beyond Sport United and the Awards and speaking/workshop opportunities at future Beyond Sport and partner events.

If the Global Goals are achieved, it would mean an end to extreme poverty, inequality and climate change by 2030. Beyond Sport believes that using sport is an effective and game-changing approach to make this happen. So that is why we are calling on any organization, program, campaign, initiative, brand, sports team or league to share how they are using sport to take action for the Global Goals.

Here are some highlights from last year's ceremony!
